“I Am Blessed By Everyday God Gives Me!”
Bryant McGill
I Am Blessed
Today as I flipped through Facebook videos, I was reminded of how amazingly blessed I am. When we are children, we know little parts of our lives that we want to live. For me, it was to live a life of love, help others, and be in a healthy relationship.
Blessed With Knowledge
As I grew older, in my teens I started to take control of my own life. I moved out of the house by the time I was 17, and still graduated high school thanks to my best friend and her family. I was engaged when I left high school, and even though that relationship did not last more than 2.5 years, I know I am blessed to have had it. Working two to three jobs, and even having a place of my own which I paid for with my hard work, I started a life journey for myself.
Blessed For My Husband
When I was 20, I met the man of my dreams. It didn’t take long to know that I wanted to be his wife and knew that he would take care of me better than all the examples I had in my life. This man helped me to move past my insecurities, even though there were red flags of a broken girl. He stuck in it with me, and we grew up together.
Blessed With A Family
When it came time for us to have children, he was right by my side through all the infertility. Four years after we were married we had a beautiful baby girl, and 18 months later, a handsome baby boy. Even though there have been times when my husband had to leave us, even in the hardest times in my life, he always showed his support and helped me through.
Blessed To Be Cancer Free
When I was diagnosed with cancer at 29, I was blessed to have it gone by the time I even knew that I had it. The cancer may have left lasting life-altering issues, but I am blessed to be able to be here today to see my children growing. Now they are teens, planning their own lives, and I know that they will be with me until they are ready to leave the nest.
Blessed With A Long Marriage
Now I have been with my husband this month for 21 years and married to him for 19. Life hasn’t always been easy, however, I am so blessed to have been able to do so much. If there were regrets, it would be not living life to the fullest.
My Prayer
So my prayer today is:
Lord, help me through the rest of this journey with a fuller life in mind. Help my family and I choose a path that is pleasing to you. Give us guidance to find a deeper connection with the earth. Direct me towards a job that is pleasing and enjoyable where I can help those in need. I love you and appreciate the life you have given me, the pain you have taken away from my family, and the healing you have given us. I thank you for the past and future love you give us.
In your name, Amen.
A Friendly Reminder
When you start to think about all your trouble, think about all the blessings you have. Life could always be worse. Whether you are happy, sad, content, or struggling, Don’t Be Afraid To Pray!!
